Alright, so here we stand a few days into the 2010 World Cup…which is not to mention, the biggest sports event in the world.

Here in Canada, Soccer is not a massive sport, like it is in the rest of the world.  In fact, the fact that we call it Soccer here in Canada and the USA should really tell the story.

However, the world cup gets over 1,000,000,000 (yes that is a billion) people watching it on TV.  It also drives $100′s of millions in online sales and because of this I want to help you get a chunk of this timely pie.

In fact, I want to let you in on something very intriguing.  I know a couple of guys who earned $60 per MINUTE…yes MINUTE, during the last World Cup in 2006.

This is a true story.  What they did was quite simple.  In fact, I read a book that they wrote that showed exactly how they earned $60 per minute and I see people doing the exact same thing this year.

So what is this and who are these mysterious guys that were banking over $3600 per hour during the last World Cup?  I want to tell you all about this but this, but I need to explain exactly what took place in a detailed way.

Today I wanted to chat with you about a few things.

(1) Why the price of stuff really matters in the first place

(2) Price increase coming to WA

They key to any successful business comes down to the price versus value ratio.  If there price point of a product or service is LESS than the actual value of the product or service, it is considered a good price.

I know first hand that I buy things when they are a good price and I think you can follow along with me here.  You like to buy things that are a good deal too right?

In this day, it is tough to really understand the fair value market of stuff, in particular “information”.  There are many companies out there profiting billions of dollars by selling information.  Some sell it for a high price tag, some sell it for a low price tag…and some even give it away for free.

So what is the difference between a high price tagged info product and one that is low cost or free?

Perceived value?

Actual value?

This is where I become a little disgruntled.  Many of the top marketers online and many of the top companies are basing their product value on ‘perceived’ value versus the actual value.  They feed people lies or falsities in order to get them to buy something.  They know what their issue is and they put their best foot forward within the sales page and marketing angle.

I also like to call these people scammers…and you may also know them as GURU’s.  These are the people charging $2000 for a course, thousands for a website, or several hundred dollars per month for a crappy membership site.

Perceived value in my opinion means “a lie to get you in the door”.  I don’t recommend products with perceived value and I actually ask for refunds when businesses sell me on a product that they either don’t deliver or vastly under deliver.

Why do you give a crap about all of this?

Because you are a smart consumer.  I know that.  You research before you buy and I can guarantee that sometimes you still get sucked into these “perceived” value products.  It is almost inevitable because you don’t know until you try right.

But, I want to help you understand true value.  Value where the product delivered is actually worth more than the price you pay.   My favorite example of this is Wealthy Affiliate, my highest ranked Internet marketing training.

Wealthy Affiliate carriest the highest “true” value out of any product I have seen online.  Apparently, Kyle & Carson (the owners) know this as well.  They are raising their price in a significant manner…more than 250%.

To be 100% real with you folks, I can tell you that $39 is extreme value for the service at WA.  $97 which is their new price in 5 days is still excellent value and I think the folks over at WA will not regret moving their price.

The reasons I think the price is more than “in line” at $97 is because they offer services, training, and support that people like you and I could pay way more for if we looked around the Internet.

Here are just a few examples:

(1) Monthly Niche Reports – I have seen guru’s charge $297 for similar products that are not as close to as good as the included ones within WA

(2) Unlimited Web Hosting – Your are looking at $20 per month if you go with a reliable web host (that doesn’t stuff 10,000 people on a server).  This is included within WA.

(3) Website Builder – Xsite pro and many others charge $400 per year for their builders.  WA includes Site Rubix for free.

(4) 500+ training tutorials – although some are higher quality than others, there are many $5,000 info products and $200/mth training offers out there that do not provide a faction of the value.

(5) Real 100% support from the owners – This is simply not offered anywhere.  There are $5,000 mentoring packages I have seen kickin’ around the net, but these usually come training assistants (people who do not know what they hell they are doing).

And a forum to write home about…

And your own blog…

And an outsourcing facility…

I could go on and on here but I will save my breath, and save your time.  The point is, Wealthy Affiliate offers value like no other….in fact, the REAL value is probably closer to $500 per month when it comes down to it.

If you have considered locking in at the existing price, I suggest you do so right away.  The $39 price tag will not last and it will be extinct before you can snap your fingers.

Today I wanted to give everyone my list of affiliate networks that I have spent time putting together over the years.  Although I don’t use all of these affiliate networks, I definitely know that there is money to be made within each and every one of them.  If you want to earn money as an affiliate marketer, I do recommend that you take advantage of affiliate networks.

The benefits of an affiliate network are:

(1) Single Payment – Most affiliate programs have a payment threshold, requiring you to meet a certain amount of sales before you get paid.  With an affiliate network you can speed up the time for your payment and get paid from one source instead of several.  Most banks charge a per check/deposit fee so this will also save you money when you go to the bank.

(2) One Sign-up, 1,000′s of Programs – You get instant access to your affiliate links across 1,000′s of affiliate programs at once.  One sign-up, access to all the programs you could ever need.  This sure beats signing-up to 10 affiliate programs giving your address, website, emails, website info, birthday, dogs name, secret password…shoot me now! LOL.

(3) Easy to track – most affiliate networks have centralized tracking for all of the affiliate programs within it.  This means that you could potential promote 100′s of affiliate programs with a single place to manage your data: sales, clicks, conversion rates, creatives, banners, etc.   This will save you a lot of time….when you start making sales as an affilaite you can waste a good chunk of time logging into several affiliate programs and this will prevent that.

And I can also firmly say I make very good money with WordPress blogs.  The reason is not the fact that I just throw a site together and pray for money to fall on my lap, here is a rhyme and a reason to my success.

First off, how to make money with a wordpress blog…

There are many different ways in which you can do this, but I traditionally take the “affiliate marketing” route.  This means that I promote other people’s products on my WordPress blogs in exchange for a commission.  The more people I refer to the site that ultimately “buy” something, the more money that I make as an affiliate.

Follow?

In a step-by-step it would look like this:

Step 1: Someone comes to my wordpress blog
Step 2: My content rocks so they buy something through one of my affliate links
Step 3: I get paid from the affiliate company

Obviously there is a little more to it than this…ie, the traffic part, but this is the main way to make money with a WordPress blog.

There are also other ways you can make money.  Adsense is one that many people do, but I don’t have time for that.  I would rather making $30-40 per sale or per lead, than to make $0.30 on a click from one of my adsense ads.  The reason is that the same Adsense ad that someone clicked on could have been my $40 sale…and many times it will be.

So don’t fall into the Adsense trap…it is easy to do and many people and other marketers will try to convince you it is the best way to make money online.  PURE, SIMPLE and STRAIGHT FROM THE OLD DOGS MOUTH>>>>>>IT ISN’T!!!

Where do you find these affiliate programs?

Everywhere!  No really, do a search in Google for “affiliate programs” and you will likely get that inner feeling of being overwhelmed.   One place that I have been quite successful is Clickbank.

It is a network of Affiliate Programs that are digital in nature.  Because of this, the merchant (affiliate product owner) can afford to give you high commissions (75% on most!).  I make well over $100K per year with my clickbank promotions alone…primarily in a small music niche.  Pretty cool huh?

So how do you set-up a WordPress Blog?

There are a couple of ways to do this, some require more technical ability than others, so I am going to give you two options, an EASY TECHNICAL ROUTE, and a HARD TECHNICAL ROUT:

Easy WordPress Blog Set-up

(1) Join Wealthy Affiliate, an Internet Marketing University.  They make it easy to set-up blogs, websites, and provide full training on how to make money online as well. They offer free unlimited hosting when you join along with a slew of SEO, PPC, Content, and other marketing tools.  This community is fully supported and if you have any questions about your WordPress blog, there are several people with experience to give you a hand.

Harder WordPress Blog Set-up

Step 1: Join a hosting company.

My Favourite hosting outside of WA.

Step 2: Download your WordPress theme to you computer.

Step 4: Install WordPress Theme on Your Hosting

Do this within your HostGator or other hosting account.

If you are technically sound, Step 2 is a little more affordable but does not offer the training.  If you are not all that technical like me, option 1 is the way to go.

I hope I have helped you learn how to make money with WordPress blogs…I know there is a bit more to it than I have explained, but this is something you learn through DOING yourself.   The key is getting your WordPress blog up, and then you will be well on your way.

OR WOULD YOU TAKE SOME SELF-RESPONSIBILITY AND WORK YOUR FREAKIN’ BUTT OFF TO MAKE MONEY?

Let’s assume that you have 1 year…yes, ONE YEAR to earn $100,000 extra money or you will lose your home.  A realistic situation for many people in the world right now, but what would you do to achieve this.

Not impossible…in fact, highly possible.  BUT, 99% of people would give into the thought they could not make a dime outside their current income without STEALING, ROBBING, or TAKING FROM SOMEONE ELSE.

How about this concept.

Help you neighbour, get thy money.

Here are the days of earning money online through simply helping your mother out.  I heard recently that you should take the approach online with your promotions as though you are “helping” your own mom buy something.

Would you recommend this to your mom?  Would you talk this way to your mom?  If not, then change it up.  If so, then you are good to go (sorry about the lame rhyme).

So…back to the main Q, “what if you were only had one year to make $100K…could you do it?”.

Say yes..please, just for you own sake.  I know first hand this can be accomplished online by you…so you just need to have a little faith in yourself.

How would you accomplish this though?  There is certian criteria that you need to follow:
(1) Be willing to work your ass off

(2) Learn how the Internet marketing world works

(3) See #1

Yeah, hard work is what it takes.  You work hard though already, so you should be able to check off the 1st and 3rd items on the list with ease.  The problem is that you are working for someone else.

Imagine if you dedicated that much time and effort to your own business!

So where do you learn Internet marketing?  Or a better question, where did I learn Internet marketing.

To be honest with you, I started in this game all alone.  I bought products to help me succeed, but I was getting to the point where I felt like every new product I bought pulled me in a different direction.  It felt like a human tug-of-war!

You want to “veg” out, but you have to battle with cleaning the house, dealing with family, and dealing with the rest of life (that is non work related).  The BIG PROBLEM!

In order to succeed, you need to work at it.  In order to work at it, you need to dedicate stress free time.  In order to be stress free you have to ________.

Now I am no Dr. Phil, and please don’t take my advice in place of a Psychologist’s, however, I have some things that I do on a regular basis to remove stress from my life…and these are also things that I did before I worked from home full-time and was coming home from a stressful day at my crappy office job.

Stress Free Technique #1: Exercise Your Butt

I am not saying you have a big butt, however, getting a little bit of cardio each day can sure clear that noggin’ of yours.  I try to get at least 30 minutes of activity a day and if I am feeling stressed, that is the first thing I do.  To keep the pounds off, I am to exercise my legs…they are a big muscle group and they will burn the most cals.  Lack of exercise is one of the leading causes of MY stress and may be doing the same to you as well.

Stress Free Technique #2: Read Something You Enjoy

Enlighten yourself…read a mag, read the newspaper, read an online blog (like mine).  Do something where you are obtaining new knowledge about something you enjoy reading about.  I like to read anything “music” related.  It soothes the soul and actually helps me earn more money online.

Stress Free Technique #3: Look on the Sunny Side, not the Gloomy

Are you the scrooge that steals the presents from the little kiddies every year?  Don’t be a jerk.  Don’t be negative.  Look at things on the bright side.  When I worked in an office, negativity was everyone.  It was contagious and every day it would seem to get worse and worse.  This was not productive at all and only put me in a good mood.  Each day when you get home from work, think of something that was “positive” about your day and tell your loved ones about that.  Don’t even mention anything negative.  Then work towards making more things positive each day.  You will be a much bigger success if you do this.

And today I am going to leave you with some interesting stats:

• Anxiety and mental-health issues are 5 times more common among high school and college students.
• One third of American Children 8-17 worry about their parents finances.
• 60% of all doctor visits world-wide are stress related.
• I HAVE VERY LITTLE STRESS (IF ANY) NOW THAT I WORK FROM HOME!!!

“What the hell do you do?…and how do you work from home?”

I guess that was really two questions, but they are the most common ones I get from people I meet, friends and even sometimes family members.  They cannot for the life of them understand how I sit at home on my computer and earn enough to live.

So how does someone work from home and make a living?  I mean, I know exactly how I do it, but what would be the best and easiest way to describe to someone without a CLUE what I do.

I help people find stuff they already know they are looking for.

That is what I do!  Thank you [as I take a bow].

Really, if you think about this concept, it is nothing new.  Somebody walks into a grocery store looking for food, the grocery has that food and likely other things to “lure” them into buying more.

Take it one step further…and something a bit more relevant to what I do. Somebody goes to their local furniture shop looking for a sofa.  The furniture store just happens to have someone that will tell them and show them the best couch for their tastes.   They hum and haw and finally buy the big red couch for $10,000.  They are happy because they bought a couch they liked.  The sales rep is happy because he probably got $1,000 commission.

That is basically what I do…minus the “selling part”.  I intercept someone when they are typing in something they are looking for.  How do I know this?  Because I target a specific keyword and my ad only gets displayed when that keyword is search.

So, I can take a keyword like “how to play music in one week” and then I can deliver an ad under that keyword when someone actually goes to Google and searches it.  Then I can put together a web page that outlines the best ways to play music in one week (help them out).  Then I make a couple of recommendations from there…maybe a guitar, some lesson manuals, video training, and maybe even a personal coach or two.

So how do I get paid?

Companies that sell guitars, sell the manuals, sell the video training and sell the coaching have what is called affiliate programs.  This is a program that allow ANYONE the promote their products.  The reason they do this is so they can have an army of people promoting them to the 1 BILLION plus people with Internet…instead of having to have 1,000 employeed marketing executives.  They only have to pay if someone earns them money.

AND I AM THAT SOMEONE!

I don’t own a product.  I don’t support any product.  I don’t know how to build a product.  But I do know how to help people out and point them in the right direction.  That is how I work from home…and how I made it a reality in my life.  That is also how 10,000′s of Internet marketers do it.  Really simple business and I hope this helped explain it to you.
